British Chancery Records, 1386-1558
The Chancery Court handled civil disputes for all of England and Wales. Its records are now held at the National Archives of the UK and begin in the late 14th century. In 1875 this court became the Chancery Division of the High Court of Justice. Therefore, records for the Chancery Court exist from the late 14th century to 1875. This database is an index to the Chancery Court proceedings, which consist of bills of complaint, answers, replications, and rejoinders, from 1386-1558.

Research Resources
Ancestry.com.uk provide a very extensive databases for those researching their ancestry. It of course comes at a cost to gain access to the information but to research the information in person would cost you a lot more in both time and a lot more money.
Which ever way you chose it will cost you money but at least Ancestry.com has done most of the work for you. This way you can do your research from the comford of your own home.
Researching your family ancestry is never an easy task but you should start with the older members of your family first. They will have valuable information which it would be wise to record while it is still possible.
It is always best to research one person at a time and the best person to start with is of course yourself then work out from there.
A family tree is of course finished and may take years of research so prepare yourself for the long haul. These days a lot of information is available online. You can apply for birth, marriage and death certs be it at a cost.
